2024 Holiday Market

It’s been so long since I last posted, that I wasn’t sure that I’d remember how!

I will be participating in a small market on December 7 at One Yoga Victoria – click the link or see the information below:

ONE YOGA HOLIDAY MARKET

One Yoga Victoria – 239 Menzies Street, Victoria, BC

If you’ll be in Victoria I’d love to see you!  It sounds like there will be an interesting variety of vendors.  My table will be filled (hopefully!) with needle felted ornaments, some 3D felted creations, and jewellery – sterling silver, brass and copper with some semi-precious stones.

On a different note, the Beehive Woolshop will be posting their winter class schedule in a few weeks. I’ll be teaching a fairy house, a cactus and a sleeping fox. If you’ve been wanting to learn to needle felt, keep an eye on the Beehive website or contact me directly.

Take care!

Fall Workshops

It has been a very long time since my last post – whoops! But I’m happy to let you know that there are two autumn needle felting workshops scheduled at the Beehive Wool Shop, located at 1700 Douglas Street, Victoria, BC. These workshops are for beginners – no experience required. All supplies will be provided.

The first will be on Sunday, October 20, from 10:30am – 12:30pm, and we will be making a needle felted pumpkin.

The second workshop will be on Sunday, November 17, from 10:30am – 12:30pm, and we will be making a fox.

You can sign up for the classes via the Beehive website. Hope to see you there!

Penguin Update

All the world loves a penguin… or at least 10 people do.  The first penguin needle felting workshop is full, and last I heard there were only two places left in the newly scheduled November 25th workshop. Contact the Beehive if one of those spots is meant for you!

Santa Penguin

This morning I took a picture of my newest felted item for the upcoming workshop at the Beehive Wool Shop.

Christmas penguin

This little Christmas penguin has had the song Santa Baby going through my head all day, replacing “baby” with “penguin”.  Needless to say, it’s been a long day!

The upcoming workshop is on November 18th, from 10:30-12:30am. Contact or drop by the Beehive to register!

Fall Felting

Yay – fall has arrived (and not my usual kind of fall 😉).  First off, the annual pumpkin needle felting workshop is happening on October 21st at the Beehive Wool Shop, from 10:30 – 12:30am. Call or drop by the Beehive to book a spot! This is one of my favourite workshops – pumpkins are fun.

Secondly, I’m taking part in a market on October 28th (poster below). It’s a fibre market arranged by Island Knits, and the list of sellers makes me keep repeating to myself “I’m there to sell, not to buy (much)”.

I’m madly felting away to produce stock, and have broken out “the good stuff” – hand-dyed fibres that I’ve been hoarding. I will also be making some copper and sterling silver fibre related jewellery (shawl pins and sticks, and possibly stitch markers).

I’m really excited about this – I haven’t participated in a market in years.  I’ve been saying that I need to be two people – one to obsess over all of the organizational and table design details (I’m a great obsesser!), and the other to actually make stuff. My mind is whirling!

I hope to see you there! There’s always the opportunity for lots of yummy food at the Public Market too… choosing is the difficult part…
