It’s easier than dyeing…

Needle felting eggs, that is. It’s definitely less messy… well, maybe less messy. Hmmm… forget what I just said. The mess is easier to clean up, well, unless you have a cat – that can make it challenging.

All this to say there is a new needle felting workshop scheduled at the Beehive Wool Shop on April 1 from 10:30am – 12:30pm. We’ll be making and decorating eggs – all supplies provided. It will be up to you how detailed you want to get, but I will show you how to layer colours for shading, and how to add dimension to your creation. The egg can be displayed in a variety of ways – in an egg-cup, propped against something or hanging like an ornament.  Space is limited (six people), so sign up by calling (250-385-2727) or dropping in to the Beehive (1700 Douglas Street). Hope to see you there!

A Plethora of Pumpkins

Wow.  And once again… wow.  I just finished a workshop at the Beehive Wool Shop, and I am so impressed with the pumpkins that were made… and the owl… That’s right – in addition to some people making second pumpkins, one person made an owl.  Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of the owl (it wasn’t finished), but here is a picture of all the pumpkins. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture – two cups of coffee apparently makes for a shaky hand!  Thanks for a great class – that was a lot of fun!

The World Loves a Pear

If you are hoping to take a pear workshop, another one has been added on June 11th.  There will be fluffy felted pears all over town 😀.

The first pear workshop was last Saturday, and we had a lot of fun.  It was a great group, and they produced some amazing pears. I’m looking forward to this Saturday’s class!  See sign up details for the class on the 11th on the Classes page.

Mmmm… Pears

It’s time for another workshop!  On May 28th I’ll be teaching a workshop on how to make needle-felted pears at the Beehive Wool Shop.  The shape is not too difficult, so we should be able to spend a little extra time layering fibres to produce shading.  Pears have so many amazing colours and shapes – I’m really looking forward to this class!  Space is limited, so contact the Beehive Wool Shop to reserve a spot.
